Jamaica

Join us in Jamaica this summer as we continue to partner with existing relationships that formed during our first trip in 1989, as well as create new ones. Our work will include repairing or replacing roofs, adding kitchens, a children’s program at Ebenezer School, and visits to the  Manchester infirmary. In addition to all of the work, there will be plenty of good music and fun and challenging speakers.

Cost includes transportation from Montego Bay Airport, housing at Moorlands Camp, meals, work projects and project materials, programming, daily transportation, and a fun day outing. Airfare to Montego Bay is on your own.

$150 deposit per person (including adult leaders) due at registration. Deposits are Non-Refundable. Deposits can be made at any time to secure spots, as long as spaces are available.

The payment schedule for Jamaica is as follows:

  • April 27 – 50% of the remaining balance
  • May 18 – Remainder of balance.

Yucatan, Mexico

The Yucatan Peninsula in Mexico is the original location where Son Servants began in 1982. Over the years we have worked in a large number of small villages and camps, buildings, churches, homes, schools, and a significant part of a seminary near Merida.  In addition, a children’s program is often part of our work. Our ministry partner is Shalom Presbyterian Church in Merida. Our projects are arranged and facilitated by the church administrator, Gaby Morales. The relationships that have been built over the years always make a trip to Mexico a pleasure.

Cost includes transportation from Cancun, housing, meals, work projects and project materials, programming, daily transportation, and a fun day outing. Transportation to Cancun is on your own.

Chattanooga, TN

Our Chattanooga, TN  trip not only takes place in the home of Son Servants but also includes work with our ministry partners for 20 years, Widows Harvest Ministry, as well as with The Chattanooga Food Bank and our newest partner, The Brethren of the Hammer. Projects will include, home painting and repairs for widows or persons in need, plus sorting and/or packing food with the Food Bank.

Cost includes housing at Harrison Bay State Park group camp, meals, work projects and project materials, and programming.

Panther, WV

The Panther, WV location has been described as an international trip in our own backyard!  While the location and culture are very unique, the people that we meet and serve are as authentic and welcoming as can be found. Our ministry partner is the Panther Missionary Baptist church. Our work continues to be home repairs, roof painting, and porch building.

Cost includes housing at the Panther Community Center, meals, work projects and project materials, and programming.

Danville, VA

Danville is one of our newer locations as this will be our third trip there, working with Danville Presbyterian Church as our home base. Our work will include working with the Salvation Army’s feeding program and providing a children’s program for them. We will also work in the Danville community garden. A unique ministry in Danville is “God’s Pit Crew”.  We will work with them in sorting donated items and packing blessing buckets.

Cost includes housing, meals, work projects and project materials, and programming.

Dungannon, Virginia

The Dungannon Development Commission, Inc. (or the DDC, as they are locally known) is a non-profit 501 (c) 3 organization that was established in 1979 when a group of local citizens saw the need for an organization to help the people in and around Dungannon with housing and everyday needs for their families. Over the years the structure of the organization has changed, but the vision remains the same today.  They are located at 344 Phoenix Street, Suite 101, Dungannon VA 24245.  www.ddcinc.org

We will be assisting in home maintenance or repairs such as: drywall installation/repair, room additions, roof repairs/replacement, minor plumbing issues, window repair/replacement, flooring repair/replacement, painting, and yard work.

Cell service is limited, but there is WiFi at the Center.

It would be extremely helpful if each van could bring the following tools: hammers, extension cords, framing squares, speed squares, tape measures, battery drills, drill bits, screw bits, and a power saw.

Cost includes room and board (housing is air-conditioned in two large rooms with bunkbeds—one for males and one for females, 5 bathrooms, 14 showers), project materials, most tools ( ee tools list to bring), programming, and additional staff.

  • May 1 – $200/per person.
  • June 15 – $125/person (final balance)

Registration & Deposit Payment

Deposits are non-refundable, however, they are transferable until sixty (60) days prior to the trip start date. After the sixty-day period, full payment will be necessary for all reserved spaces.
